SUSTAINABLE SEAFOOD

Delivering wild, line-caught seafood direct from Port Orford to fish-loving communities throughout Western Oregon.

SUSTAINABLE SEAFOOD FROM PORT ORFORD

YOU JOIN. WE CATCH. PROCESS AND DELIVER. YOU ENJOY.

CAUGHT IN OREGON

A Community Supported Fishery is very similar to the CSA that you already know. Our CSF offers you periodic deliveries of the very best seafood the Oregon Coast has to offer!

We work directly with Port Orford fishing families. By purchasing fish directly at the dock we are able to handle the catch individually and prepare it for you with 24 hours of it being landed.

We think that knowing who catches and processes your food matters. By doing it this way, we keep more resources in the hands of the people who are out there doing the hard work of bring in the seafood. We see ourselves as stewards of our environment. We care for it, it cares for us.

OUR STORY

Port Orford Sustainable Seafood (POSS) was formed in 2009 to help fishermen and our community retain more value of our local ocean resources.

The existing system here in Port Orford was comprised of only two corporate buyers. This system also limited access to seafood. Even though it was caught in our own small town, it all left on a truck and became mystery fish.

We set out to pay a fair trade price to local fishermen for their fish, process fish here in Port Orford and pay processing employees a fair wage, sell Port Orford fish in Port Orford, and provide high-quality, traceable fish to Oregonians. Read more →
